Döppel Studio signs the scenography of the curated section at the Collectible Fair 2020, by offering 2 spaces. An exhibition space and a pop-up restaurant.
The exhibition space resonates with the issues raised by the designers on display, the search for natural materials, the sustainability of design practices. The installation is therefore made up of monoblocs covered with clay of different colored shades that serve as an exhibition support. All the blocks follow an increasing progression reminiscent of a geological section revealing layers of sediment.
The ephemeral restaurant offers an open space surrounded by a plant environment designed by Döppel Studio & Thierry Boutemy. Furniture, simple to manufacture and removable, is blackened by a natural stain enhancing the grain of the wood. The roots and seasonal plants proliferate in the space, creating a dialogue between raw materials and living organic materials.
